Item Description
Mixed media
18" x 18" x 1.25"
"Glimmer" is a mixed media abstract in pastel and metallic acrylic paint. It is an experiment in combining two mediums that would not typically be used in the same painting. One dry and one wet. Although the subject is abstract, it is also a minimalist piece. From the purple haze emerges a glimmer of pure silver light and a spark of exciting color; a simple shape of lost and found edges punctuated by a bold streak of red orange. It gives the viewer a sense that something exciting lies beyond.
Michael Evans is an award-winning artist who got back into painting after a long career in the financial services industry. His love of the arts was invigorated by taking classes at the AAM. He is currently on the Board of Trustees of the AAM and the Auction Chairman. He is also on the Board and Treasurer of the Pastel Painter's Society of Cape Cod. Michael maintains a studio in Pawtucket and teaches a variety of art classes at Hunakai Studio, School of Fine Arts in Foxboro, MA.
