"Knight Pond #17" is an edge-painted acrylic on canvas. The image is based on a pond in Maine at sunset. The landscape format allows the artist to improvise with using fanciful colors.
Irma Cerese is fascinated with color relationships and manipulating paint on a surface. Her paintings can be seen simultaneously as landscape and abstract paint surface. Educated at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, her work was featured recently in an extensive solo show at Landing Gallery, Rockland, ME. Her work was used as cover art for the 2016 Dick Blick artists supply catalog.
