Item Description
Liquid graphite & pastel
15" x 21.5" x 1"
Buying a new medium was the reason the artist completed this piece. Rosemarie had used pan pastels as the background of the sunset, and then experimented with the liquid graphite. It was a pleasant surprise. Since it is water soluble, acrylics can be covered with it and then create an image by wiping away the graphite. Usually, the artist will cover a surface and then wipe away the lighter values to reveal an image. Amazing!
Rosemarie Manson has been studying water media painting with C.C. Woolf at the EastSide Art Center in Providence, since retiring from a career in education. She is a member of the RI Watercolor Society, the AAM, and the East Greenwich Art Club. Her recent awards include Juror's Choice, Member Exhibit at the AAM 2016, Third Place, Arnold Mills Community House Art Exhibition 2017, Second Place, Arnold Mills Community House Art Exhibition 2018.
