Dr. Jim Towns has shared his positive, practical, and spiritual message in speaking engagements across the United States, Canada, England, and Europe as well as through television broadcasts. His work on grief and recovery, including a family guide to death and dying, has been published by Broadman Press, Honor Books, Tyndale House, and Warner Press. His insights into the normal grief process have helped many people to process their personal crises and equipped them to help others through difficult times. His theory centers on our need to think, plan, and prepare to accept grief and sorrow as a part of life so we might avoid the dangerous trend of avoiding and suppressing our normal grief behavior.

Named one of the Outstanding People of the 20th Century, Dr. Towns' passion for education is evident. He currently serves as the Regents Professor of Communication at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
