Item Description
This is a $150 gift certificate to Larrupin Cafe on Scenic Drive in breathtaking Trinidad, CA. There is no expiration date for this gift certificate.
Larrupin’ welcomes you in. The place has a cozy, down-home feel. Part of it is the ambiance of the place, warm colors everywhere, chic but funky, elegant but homey, good smells and good food emerging from the kitchen.
Officially it’s The Larrupin’ Cafe, but it’s just Larrupin’ in Humboldt. Dixie Gorrel, the grande dame, founder, owner and the soul of the place, would explain it’s a southern word, learned from her southern grandmom. “It’s larrupin’ good food, honey!” as Dixie explained.
Paul Fitzgerald is the chef/manager now and he’s got a story to tell, but we’ll start with Dixie. This is a restaurant with a long larrupin’ story, over 30 years in Trinidad. But it begins sometime in the ’70s — in Arcata.
Dinner includes our appertizer board, house salad & a choice of wild rice, twice-baked potato, honey-maple potato or seasonal vegetable. Larrupin uses local organic produce whenever possible.
