Cherry Blossom Necklace & Earring (Swarovski) Set
- Item Number

Item Description
Margaret Huddy’s watercolor A View of the White House with Cherry Blossoms is the inspiration for the items in our Cherry Blossom collection. It was First Lady Helen Herron Taft's idea to plant the cherry trees along the Tidal Basin and her wish was realized in 1912 when 3,000 trees were given to the United States by Japan. Now more than 100 years old, the mature cherry trees with their spectacular springtime blossoms are celebrated annually with a festival and parade in Washington D.C. This delicate cherry blossom necklace and earring set is made with Swarovski Crystals on a Sterling Silver base. Each earring measured just under a 1/2 an inch in diameter and the necklace is 16 inches.
Directly from The White House Historical Association, Washington, DC. This is a non-political, non-partisan organization.
