Item Description

Enjoy this exclusive guided tour of the Clark Art Institute for a group of up to 6 people along with a gift bag of Clark publications.

The collection of the Clark features European and American paintings, sculpture, prints, drawings, photographs, and decorative arts from the Renaissance to the early twentieth century. The collection is especially rich in French Impressionist and Academic paintings, British oil sketches, drawings, and silver, and the work of American artists Winslow Homer, George Inness, and John Singer Sargent. Based on the founding gift from Sterling and Francine Clark, the collection has expanded over the years through numerous acquisitions as well as significant gifts and bequests, including the gift of the Sir Edwin and Lady Manton Collection of British Art and the gift of paintings by George Inness by Frank and Katherine Martucci.

Surrounded by 140 acres of expansive lawns, meadows, and walking trails, the Clark is located in a setting of profound natural beauty. Both the Clark Center, designed by Pritzker Prize-winner Tadao Ando, and the sweeping landscape design by Reed Hilderbrand Landscape Architects have won numerous awards and accolades. Discover the Clark’s new reading room in the Manton Research Center and enjoy exploring its renowned art history library. Walking trails traverse the property, including trails up historic Stone Hill, whose summit offers a spectacular view of Williamstown and the Green Mountains of Vermont and hosts Thomas Schütte’s architectural sculpture installation,Crystal.
