Fine Art and Fine Dining ~ Peabody Essex Museum Private Tour & Dinner Party for 25 at Root’s HarborPoint Room
Root, the Peabody Essex Museum, and the Salem YMCA have joined together to bring you a once in a lifetime opportunity ~ an evening to discover and delight in the best of our community.
Here is what you and your guests can expect on your special night!
5-6:15pm Private Tour at the PEM
It's rare that an evening like this happens at the PEM. This is a one-of-a-kind experience as you will have the museum to yourself! Arrive at the PEM at 5:00 PM to enjoy a glass of wine before your tour. Afterward, you will be taken on a private tour to discover outstanding artistic and cultural creativity from around the world. As one of the oldest museums in continuous existence in the country, PEM is home to objects from around the globe that open your eyes to the multilayered and interconnected world of creative expression. Visit a selection of powerful works unique to PEM and explore the history of this amazing museum.
6:30-9:30pm Dinner
Chef Sam Hunt and the experienced staff of Catering by Root, will work with you to create a delicious menu perfect for your dinner. Whether you choose a buffet or plated meal, Catering by Root will make your planning easy and will WOW your guests! The dinner will be held in the HarborPoint Room at Root and include staff. You and your guests will also be treated by a special performance by the Theatre Arts Group of the Salem Y.

Root - Feeding Opportunity and Community
Root offers a rigorous 12-week, 200 hour, workforce training program that uses food preparation and service as its vehicle for teaching career and life skills. In the kitchen at Root, and those of our partner restaurants, hotels and caterers, Program Partners learn and practice safe food preparation and handling, and many other direct skills that they will need to succeed. They attain industry-certified credentials that give them a sense of accomplishment - and an advantage in seeking employment. In Root’s classroom they learn professional preparation and develop maturity and life skills that will help them to secure and thrive in their first and subsequent jobs.
