Item Description
Offered here is a beautiful hand-thrown vase by Elizabeth Saslaw of York Hill Pottery in Lincoln, Vermont.
Of her Volutes line, she says,
Volutes are the spiral, scroll-shaped ornaments forming the chief feature of ionic columns; they also refer to the turn of a spiral-shaped shell. Our Volutes line includes one-of-a-kind bowls, vases, urns, and lamps—with spiral shapes individually hand-formed by Susan, and then added to each pot. The glaze used in this pottery line features a matte finish that varies considerably from pot to pot, and gives the pieces an ancient look.
This stoneware piece in Etruscan Green measures 8"h x 6"d at the mouth.
