Item Description

Our Chardonnay continues to express Walnut Creek’s terroir. The nose is incredible with aromas of a tropical paradise with ripe pineapple, mango and coconut. On the palate, the wine boasts a rich texture followed by a well-balanced cotton candy flavor intertwined with structured French oak. This wine has perfect balance.

This is a package with two bottles of this outstanding wine.

Winemaker’s Comments:
This is my favorite Chardonnay to date: don’t let this Chardonnay sell out before you try it! All of the fruit was hand-harvested in the morning and “cold soaked’ for 24 hours to ensure flavor extraction. This process is fairly unique to Shadowbrook and accounts for its big fruit flavors. The wine was cold fermented in 100% new French oak barrels and 25% of the grapes underwent a secondary, malolactic fermentation to add roundness and a nice creamy/buttery texture to the wine. ~Tim Jochner

Item Special Note

Shadowbrook Winery located in Walnut Creek, CA strives to compete with the top wines of the well known Napa Wine Country. People may not think of the Walnut Creek area to be a prime region for wine growing, but it is quite the contrary. The Mount Diablo area was the “pre-eminent” grape growing region in the late 1800’s. By the turn of the century one third of agriculture, especially around the foothills, was planted with vineyards for making wine. Wine eventually became so popular in this region that in 1911 local farmers celebrated the first Walnut Creek Wine Festival. By the 1920’s prohibition sealed the fate of this prominent wine region and following prohibition Napa soon became the new Walnut Creek as it held many similar environmental traits for the growing of wonderful grapes. With the help of you, our team of wine growers, our wine makers Rick Tracy and Randle Johnson, and our wonderful Wine Master Tim Jochner we hope to bring the reputation of fine wine back to Walnut Creek and allow people to see that they don’t have to travel to Napa to find a quality wine.
