The mission of the Green Mountain Club (GMC) is to make the Vermont mountains play a larger part in the life of the people by protecting and maintaining the Long Trail System and fostering, through education, the stewardship of Vermont’s hiking trails and mountains.

1. Long Trail Guide Book
The GMC's latest (2017) version of their Long Trail Guide book. The 28th edition celebrates not only a finished trail extending 272 miles along the Green Mountain Range, but 225 miles of side trails, and a century of Green Mountain Club publishing.
You'll find the information you've always found with updated trail descriptions and full-color maps, plus a new quick-reference guide highlighting campsite and shelter locations. The new guide is accented with art and photographs illustrating the changes in the guide over time.
2. Long Trail Waterproof Map
The GMC's redesigned 5th edition of Vermont's Long Trail Waterproof Hiking Map is now larger and more detailed. This map combined with the Long Trail Guide and End-to-Ender’s Guide provide the most comprehensive resource to plan and hike on the Long Trail. The map includes elevation profiles, up-to-date information about shelter and trail locations, mileages and suggested day hikes.
