Item Description
This collector's faience egg stands 4.5 inches high without the base. The base is 3/4-inch high. There is a 1-1/4-inch in diameter opening at the bottom of the egg. The piece is numbered at its base.
The French enterprise of Gien France looks back at a nearly 200-year-old history of the faience production. Faience is a porous and extremely fine earthenware which is glazed and fired several times. The result of this costly manufacturing are faience items, which are beautiful and fancy, manufactured in a charming old world town of Gien in France's Loire Valley. Manufacturers since 1821.
The pattern is Peony Pivoines.
