Item Description

Join Wayne Key the Co-Founder and Chief Instructor of Austin Kula Karate in his "Essentials of Self-Defense” workshop. Work shop will be 1-3pm on Sunday 2/3/19.  Location based on number of attendees.

This is 31 Years of Martial Arts condensed into a 2 hour experience. You will learn:
  • 2 most important rules of self-defense
  • 5 ethical Levels
  • 5 essential principles
  • The one decision and survival attitude
  • Pragmatic tools to last a lifetime
“The  Essentials of Self-Defense” presents the boiled down, long considered results of Wayne Key's 29-year journey in martial arts. This seminar is designed to present a complete conceptual and pragmatic approach to personal and family self-defense. The class will be 25% discussion-based learning and 75% action and practice.

This seminar is designed with the layman in mind. There are those whose job it is to go into harms way and their training is both intensive and specialized, but that is not the objective of this class.  Nor, does it seek to train street fighters, or mixed-martial artists. This seminar is designed to give the layman an edge, the mind set and tools to help survive the increasing dangers of our modern world.

From Wayne Key:
Since the beginning of my training in 1987 I have been awarded multiple levels of black belt and have studied a number of arts in considerable depth.  Those arts include: Chayon Ryu, Okinawa-te, Hapkido, Hun Gar Kung-fu, Guang Ping Tai Chi, Chin-Na, Yang Family Tai Chi, Shorin-Ryu Karate, Jujitsu, and pre-sport Tae Kwon Do. During this time I have also had the privilege of working with police officers, army Rangers, Navy Seals and SWAT team members.
