Do you know the legend behind "the Mask"? It all started off as a joke but over time, he become known for "decorating" his mask with a "stitch mark" whenever a puck hit it. The original mask is said to be hanging on the wall of his grandson's bedroom!
Cheevers was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1980 and was an inaugural member into the World Hockey Association Hall of Fame in 2010.
