Hand forged by bladesmith Dominic Paolantonio of SilverLeaf Forge, located in Bristol, Vermont.
Made from a sheer steel blade salvaged from a horse buggy spring that was found on North Branch School's property. The handle is from a burl that was also discovered on school grounds. It has a stabilized handle with a dyed purple burl spacer. Also has a forged integral finger guard.
This knife encompasses North Branch School, from the color of the Purple Prunes to the recycled material and treasures found on the property.
Specializing in unique handcrafted knives and jewelry, Dominic began his pursuit of blacksmithing at age 12 when he attended a blacksmithing course at Shelburne Museum. He built a workshop in his garage and has been making knives part time for seven years.
