Item Description
Rob Hoffman is a Los Angeles-based photographer, focusing on music portraiture and social activism. He began his career assisting Annie Lebovitz in New York City and has since served as personal photographer to Beyonce and Jay Z. Most recently, he captured images of Dolly Parton's forthcoming album cover and directed her latest music video. In May 2018, Hoffman traveled to Tijuana, Mexico to photograph members of the migrant caravan who became stranded at the US Border after the Trump Administration announced they would be seeking to end requests for asylum from Mexican and Central American applicants. On a white sheet of paper taped to the border wall, Hoffman stripped away the desparate conditions of the situation and photographed the asylum seekers simply for who they are.
His social work has included trips to Botswana, Mexico, and Houston, TX to document the devastation in minority communities in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. For more of his work, please visit. www.robhoffmanphotos.com.
