Item Description
2 Tickets to CONSIDERING MATTHEW SHEPARD with the Metropolitan Master Chorale at Fiesta Hall in Plummer Park, West Hollywood. Redeemable either Saturday, June 1 at 7pm OR Sunday, June 2 at 2pm. In October of 1998, Matthew Shepard, a young gay student at the University of Wyoming in Laramie was kidnapped, severely beaten, tied to a fence and left to die in a lonely field under a blanket of stars. When Matthew Shepard died five days later, and his public story motivated the passage of the Hate Crimes Prevention Act. To honor the 20th anniversary of Matthew Shepards death, acclaimed composer Craig Hella Johnson created a musical oratorio that seeks to both celebrate his life and explore how we can transcend tragedy as a means to discover our common humanity. The outstanding Metropolitan Master Chorale, under the direction of Glenn Carlos, will present this powerful and stirring musical experience for two performances, June 1 & 2, 2019.
