Item Description
"Farm to Win" by Adolph Treidler, original WWI propaganda poster. Framed, 30" x 40", exhibited in the 2018 AHM Rosenberg Gallery Show "Artists of War."
Very Good Condition
Wartime shortages in labor threatened New York’s ability to produce crops in quantities sufficient for the war effort. By October 1918, the New York State Food Commission had assigned 9,840 men and 3,849 women to more than 4,600 farms across the state. Despite its best efforts, the Commission was never able to provide the manpower requested by New York’s farmers. This was due in large part to the fact that the farmers could not compete with the wages being offered in factories manufacturing goods for government contract.
