From the Donor:
Are you interested in honey bees and beekeeping? Come enjoy an afternoon on our bee farm (apiary) in Washtenaw County, just north of Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti. We have over 50 hives (70,000-80,000 bees in each one) and produce many natural products from our bees--including honey, antibiotic and antiviral ointments, soothing lip balms, and therapeutic honey infusions. Two beekeepers will mentor you through the beginning steps of beekeeping, how to set up a hive, what equipment to order, and conclude the afternoon with an introduction to apitherapy--using honey, pollen, wax, and propolis to create products that improve overall health, hygiene, and wellbeing. This will include a honey tasting session and your choice of a jar to bring home.
