About Jefferson's Grand Selection Chateau Suduiraut Sauternes Cask Finish,
Jefferson’s Grand Selection Chateau Suduiraut Sauternes Cask Finish
Thomas Jefferson, our third president, was a wine aficionado. He was America’s first ambassador to France and, while there, fell in love with the finest wines of Bordeaux. Once of his favorites, listed on a 1787 inventory manifest, is Chateau Suduiraut, which he called “President du Roy,” an exceptional Sauternes.
Based on our experience finishing Jefferson’s in innovative ways and in various types of casks, we felt strongly that the sweetness of the Chateau Suduiraut wine and the toasted staves of the French oak wine casks would complement our well aged, complex Kentucky Straight Bourbon whiskey. We were not disappointed.
After hand selecting forty Suduiraut barrels, refilling them with Jefferson’s Reserve bourbon, and extra aging them in our proprietary “hot box” environment we have created a one of a kind bourbon. This combines the sweetness of Sauternes, the wood notes of both American and French oak, and the grain of a premium bourbon in a delicious, complex and balanced final product.
About Old Limestone
This is our 2.5-pound flint glass bottle filled with our Kentucky limestone filtered spring water
Ice cubes or a splash, limestone filtered spring water gently releases all the flavor nuances of your favorite bourbon - just as the master distiller's intended it to be. Try this. Pour two fingers neat, then sip it. Now add a splash of Old Limestone, swirl it around, and sip it again. There, you see? That's why Barry and I started bottling Old Limestone: To get back to our bourbon roots and enjoy it like we did in the old days.
We import a heavy flint-glass bottle from France, fill it at the source here in Kentucky, then use a bar top closure so you can reseal it. Each bottle is filled with our award winning, velvety smooth limestone filtered spring water bottled here in Kentucky in bourbon country. Mixes perfectly with any bourbon or whiskey.
This is the same delicious, velvety-smooth water used by master distillers in Kentucky to make your favorite bourbons. It delivers a rich mouth feel and it amplifies the taste and aroma of your favorite brand, never alters it. Old Limestone is drawn from the Kentucky limestone aquifer. These unique spring waters have traces of calcium and magnesium which gently bring out a bourbons nuanced flavors, but no iron, which would turn a bourbon mash black. Even in the Kentucky, ordinary tap water falls short of what a master distiller needs. Old Limestone. 100% limestone filtered spring water. Ships nationwide from Kentucky.
