Item Special Note

"I am drawn towards working with abstraction for it can be a place for anyone to impose their own story, using our instincts as humans to respond to color, shape and dimension. The opportunity to use my work as a means for supporting humanity is an honor." - Victoria Manganiello

Victoria Manganiello creates paintings and installations by spinning, dying and weaving her own canvases using mixed media including natural and synthetic fiber and dyes, found materials, and metals. Exploring themes of time, cartography, and story telling with abstract imagery, her work is often inspired by the curious results of collaboration both between people and materials. Victoria has exhibited her work throughout the USA and internationally including at the Queens Museum, the Tang Museum, and the Armory Center. She is an adjunct professor at both New York University and Parson's New School. She has recently concluded her first solo show with the Sara Kay Gallery in New York, NY.
