Item Description
This is a delicious Greek Ravani cake (also known as raveni/basbousa etc. in other Middle Eastern variations). It will be made with semolina and regular flour; it will have no nuts or coconut but will have butter. It is a light cake that is soaked in sugar-honey syrup after cooling. It can be made with a flavoring such as lemon, orange, rose water, clove, thyme, chamomile, etc in the cake and/or the syrup if the purchaser desires. Sweet cakes were a traditional Greek offering to gods as well as prizes for heroes as far back as the 5th century B.C.E., so try some yourself!
For some added fun (and delicious coffee), the cake will be delivered with a Starbucks or Peets gift-card equal to 110% of the value of the winning bid!
Item Special Note
Cathedral community only, for pickup at school on mutually agreed date, please. The Barakos brothers (6th and 8th grades) are committed to putting in 110% effort in making you the finest Ravani. To commemorate this effort and since Ravani is well accompanied with one's favorite tea or coffee, the Ravani will be presented with a Starbucks or Peets gift-card equal to 110% of the value of the winning bid. Most financial advisers will tell you this may be the "sweetest" way to make a 10% return on your money while simultaneously getting a tax deduction, and supporting your CSB community!
