Item Description

Paddle away with this certificate, valid for up to one full day of boat rental of one standard canoe, single or double kayak, or stand-up paddleboard at any of Charles River Canoe and Kayak's rental locations.

In order to make outdoor paddlesports recreation more accessible to more residents, Charles River Canoe & Kayak have added a number of boat rental/instructional centers since 1993. In that year, our second rental center opened, this one location on Soldier's Field Road in Boston's Allston/Brighton. This center is a cooperative effort with the Department of Conservation and Recreation's Division of Urban Parks and Recreation. Through the efforts of manager Ralph Boynton, this center now offers a diverse urban population the opportunity to enjoy the Charles River.

During the summer of 2000 we began offering boat rentals, instruction, and children's paddling camps at Cochituate Canoe and Kayak, located within Lake Cochituate State Park in Natick. This center operates in cooperation with the Department of Conservation and Recreation's Division of State Parks and Recreation.

In September of 2009, we opened our first location truly accessible by public transportation: in Kendall Square, Cambridge. In cooperation with Kendall Square Corporation, we offer boat rentals, guided tours, and instruction in one of the best urban paddling sites in the world and only a five-minute walk from the Red Line. Our Kendall Square location has allowed us to take our mission of outdoor recreation for the masses to a new level. We also began offering one-way trips between Kendall Square and Allston/Brighton, which is also located on the lower Charles River.

In May of 2010, in cooperation with the City of Newton Department of Parks and Recreation, we opened a fifth rental location in Newton's Nahanton Park. Situated on one of the longest stretches of flatwater on the Charles, this location offers a more secluded and wild feel, even though it's only minutes from Newton, Needham, Dedham, and West Roxbury.

The certificate has no cash value and is good for one use, and no value will be retained, nor will change or credit be given, if the maximum potential value is not used. This certificate expires on 9/28/17.

The item price includes a charge for shipping and handling.
