Dyer Vineyards – A Jewel from Diamond Mountain

2014 Dyer Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, 1.5 L

World reknowned winemakers Dawnine and Bill Dyer bring the rich history and intense flavors of Diamond Mountain Cabernet to life. Their production in the Diamond Mountain District combines their expertise and experience in one wine - Dyer Vineyard, Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, a celebration of California’s storied wine-making history.

Bill and Dawnine’s unique perspective and knowledge of wine derives from decades of winemaking, both in the prestigious Napa Valley and around the world.  Together they represent more than 80 years of experience in the wine industry.  In 1996, they planted Dyer Vineyard with the goal of bringing focus on the exceptional terroir and extraordinary wines of Napa Valley’s “jewel” on Diamond Mountain.

The 2014 Diamond Mountain Cabernet is a blend 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. This wine displays a dark ruby purple color, some attractive black and red currant fruit, and hints of asphalt and earth. It is medium to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a round, juicy finish.  Soaring floral and spice aromatics come from the Cabernet Franc included here, while dark cherry and cassis flavors are delivered with flint and savory herbs against a backdrop of unique energy in texture and structure.

A perfect expression of the lean, elegant wines that Mountain vineyards can produce, and this one is an absolute jewel.
