Item Description

Retro Wines - A Collection of Petite Sirah - 2009-2012

Handcrafted Wines in An Old World Style

When Kara and Mike Dunn decided to make a wine of their own, they knew that they wanted to honor the history of the vineyard as well as their families’ foundations in the Napa Valley wine industry.

The historic Park Muscatine Vineyard on Howell Mountain dates to 1890 and was chosen in part because Mike has known this vineyard since his childhood, pruning the vineyard in winter, and harvesting the fruit in the fall. With its scant single ton per acre production, this vineyard is a gem.

Mike Dunn’s winemaking style can be described as “retro” in that his aim is to allow the terroir to express itself in the bottle, he makes the wine as naturally as possible, and ages the wine in french oak barrels for an extended period of 30 months.

Starting with the 2012 vintage, he added the name “Elevation” to the Howell Mountain Petite Sirah label, wanting to bring attention to the fact that the grapes for this wine are grown between 1800 – 2100 feet elevation on Howell Mountain.

Here for you, a collection of 750s, 2009 – 2012, 4 bottles of Petite Sirah that are “Quite possibly the most perfect example of what Petite Sirah can offer in the world.”
