Item Description

Spend a week at the glorious "Le Domaine du Chat" in Les Cévennes in southern France, north of Montpellier. Relax in a classic country 'mas' that comes with a swimming pool, six bedrooms, an olive grove, and Sylvie, the housekeeper.

The house has extensive private grounds and is 15 minutes by foot from the village of Monoblet. Nearby attractions include a grotto, medieval castles, and a steam train as well as extensive hiking.

The Cévennes are a range of mountains in south-central France, covering parts of the départements of Ardèche, Gard, Hérault and Lozère. The word Cévennes comes from the Gaulish Cebenna, which was Latinized by Julius Caesar to Cevenna.

This week is generously donated by Cécile and Olivier Fainsilber. The Fainsilbers were friends of Joe Rivlin, who was the longtime president of the Alliance Française of Portland. The Fainsilbers offer this property in recognition of the work of the organization to promote French language and culture.

The property is available during these dates in 2019 and 2020: September through December of 2019, January through June of 2020, and September-October of 2020. For more photos of this amazing property, visit https://www.abritel.fr/location-vacances/p1299266.
