Kidspace has exhibits, programs and activities that encourage a child’s growth and development through explorations of the environment, investigations in science, and artistic forms of expression that captivate the inquisitive and growing minds of children ages 10 and under.
Here are some of the things your family can explore and enjoy:
Arroyo Adventure is a unique experience that invites children to discover adventure and uncover possibilities in the Arroyo Seco. This latest enhancement to the museum features 8 additional interactive exhibits in the Kidspace Gardens designed to connect your child with nature and inspire imaginative play.
S. Mark Taper Foundation Early Childhood Learning Center: This space is designed to inspire wonder, stimulate exploration and prompt interaction between children and their adults. Inspired by nature, this space will provide a variety of experiences through interactive exhibits geared towards children from birth to age three.
The Robert & Mary Galvin Physics Forest offers 12 exciting, hands-on exhibits created to inspire children to be the innovators and creators of tomorrow. From the bottle rocket, tennis ball launcher, and pulleys, there are activities to touch, teach and nurture children's love of science.
The Imagination Workshop is a makerspace for children ages 4 and up to tinker, create, and discover. Open 10:30am - 4:00pm.
In the Imagination Workshop kids can build and create and repurpose with real tools and a wide array of materials. Come in on Technology Tuesday, our one day a week devoted to electronics and technology, to work with circuits, electronics and robotics. Whether it’s a toy or radio, electronic or mechanical device, new object or old, the Imagination Workshop will present children with limitless opportunities to discover the inner workings of everyday objects, as well as the principles that make them work.
Kidspace offers hands-on exhibits and learning environments which provide a variety of sensory and physical experiences in the natural world. Families investigate the properties of water as they interact with our water features while Play Facilitators are always close by to facilitate interactive programs such as leaf rubbing by the Wildlife Pond or a nature hike. Children can also strengthen their motor skills by climbing into the Hawk's Nest or traversing the Strata Wall.
