Brownie, the class hamster from 2C, is famous throughout the school for being the sweetest and fluffiest little guy. He is a long haired Syrian Teddy Bear Hamster with a great personality. He is going to be retiring from school soon but not without leaving a legacy. On February 9, he became a daddy to 12 adorable babies! Mama Marzipan is a long haired cream Syrian and has been wonderful raising a rainbow of babies. The babies will all be long haired (though males will have longer hair than females) and hopefully just as friendly as their daddy. This listing entitles you to adopt one of your very own "Brownie Bites." Before bidding or buying, please review the information below thoroughly!
These are pets, NOT FOOD. We want to make sure every hamster goes to a loving home and has an appropriate cage. Syrian hamsters are solitary animals, so each one needs its own cage. Therefore, only one hamster can go to each home. The cage should have a minimum of 450 square inches of continuous floor space. Syrians also require a larger 9" wheel that will need to be purchased separately and added to the cage. Other supplies you will need to purchase include a water bottle, bedding, house/nest, and high quality food. Expect to pay around $150 to purchase housing and startup supplies. There are also many tutorials online for DIY cages and enrichment ideas. Each hamster will come with an information sheet with everything you need to know about taking care of your Syrian along with contact info if you have any questions. At the conclusion of the auction, you will receive the information sheet so you can purchase/make your habitat before bringing your baby home. The babies will be ready to go to new homes when they are 6 weeks old (March 23). Pickup will be in Westchester, 2 blocks from WISH elementary.
