Visit the Bronx Zoo!
The Bronx Zoo is deeply intertwined with the history of the borough itself. Opened in 1899, the zoo is owned by the Wildlife Conservation Society. WCS does work all around the world, and they also own/operate four other NYC parks (Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, and the New York Aquarium). At 265 acres, the Bronx Zoo is the largest park WCS runs and is also the location of their headquarters.
As the world's largest urban zoo with amazing architecture, exhibits and landscape, it features more than 600 species. Enjoy daily penguin and sea lion feedings and more. Major exhibits such as Congo Gorilla Forest, JungleWorld, Wild Asia Monorail, Madagascar!, Tiger Mountain, African Plains, World of Birds, World of Reptiles, Zoo Center.
