Item Description
Cloisonne Enamel Brooch with intricate Japanese Floral Design
Shippo is made of cloisonne enamel and its name comes from the Buddhist Text which compared its beauty to that of seven kinds of jewels and it has been highly valued.
The "Ogon Ruri Juni Ryo-kyo" (the mirror with twelve stones inlaid in a gol plated twilled azure base) of Shosoin is well known as a beautiful classical work in Japan.
The modern Shippo combines the gorgeous tradition with various arts and is highly esteemed for its rich artistic characteristics.
