Item Description
The Russian River Valley has been the epicenter for high quality Pinot noir in California since the 1970’s and remains a prominent source for New World Pinot noirs. The Sojourn 2011 Russian River Valley Pinot noir is a blend of two vineyards and again offers a beautiful expression of the varietal, the cool climate and loamy soils it excels in. This wine exudes lush textures and earthy notes. In 2011, Sojourn introduced Riddle Vineyard to the blend. Located in Green Valley, Riddle is a young vineyard with exceptional goldridge soils and sits high up on a ridgetop overlooking many of the iconic Pinot noir vineyards in the region. The resulting blend has a firm balanced structure and multiple layers of red fruit and earth. It has a medium-deep ruby color with bright red cherry flavors, herbal notes and a nice silky texture.
Aromas of dark cherry and pomegranate in this 2010 Pinot noir entice your nose and meld with hints of mushroom and soy. On the palate, red fruit flavors deliver a slightly brighter edge. This wine shows freshness and lively acidity, while maintaining the lush textures from the Gap’s Crown and Sangiacomo Vineyard components.
