Item Description

Kalita Vineyard is located in the heart of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA and exhibits all of the characteristics of this viticultural district. The site’s most unique feature is its bowl-shape which provides winemakers with the option to select grapes grown on hillsides facing South, Southwest or Southeast and with elevations ranging from 400 to 800 feet. The soil is classic WillaKenzie soil, which drains quickly and shows very low vigor, requiring the vines to send deep roots for nutrients. The flavors of Kalita Vineyard Pinot Noirs are typical of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA and the terroir of the site – black cherries and blackberries.

Et Fille Wines has made a single vineyard Kalita Vineyard Pinot Noir since 2004 and has never received a rating of less than 90 from the Wine Spectator. The 2008, 2009 and 2010 Et Fille Kalita Vineyard Pinots all received a WS rating of 92. This 2008 bottle is a very rare one, nearly impossible to find in shops.
