Item Description
In 2001, two generations of the Cobb family came together to explore a shared passion for pinot noir with the founding of Cobb Wines. Focused exclusively on crafting single-vineyard, Sonoma Coast pinot noirs, Cobb Wines combines the winegrowing expertise of David Cobb—one of the pioneers of pinot noir viticulture on the far Sonoma Coast—with the winemaking talents of his son, noted pinot noir specialist Ross Cobb. Winemaker's notes about this bottle: Once again, this diverse block of Coastlands has expressed itself with alluring notes of spice and dried savory herbs, as well as vivid fruit aromas of cherry, strawberry and black raspberry. Secondary aromas of Asian spice, white pepper and cinnamon add nuance and depth. Though the mouthfeel is crisp and lively, the tannins are soft and supple, adding texture and length to this lovely wine.
Comments on Cellartracker.com include: "Complex nose with rather dark fruit like blueberries, cherries and blackberries, but also lingonberries, earthy notes, minerals and some herbs. Very juicy and fresh acidity with a mouthwatering feel. On the palate we also find orange peel and again herbal notes. For a rather forward and complex wine it has a slim and fresh finish. This is a fantastic wine."
