Item Description
In 2001, two generations of the Cobb family came together to explore a shared passion for pinot noir with the founding of Cobb Wines. Focused exclusively on crafting single-vineyard, Sonoma Coast pinot noirs, Cobb Wines combines the winegrowing expertise of David Cobb—one of the pioneers of pinot noir viticulture on the far Sonoma Coast—with the winemaking talents of his son, noted pinot noir specialist Ross Cobb.
Winemaker's notes about this bottle: Lithe and energetic, this is one of those lovely Pinot Noirs that you can experience through its aromas, where layers of Bing cherry and wild raspberry are framed by deeper, more savory undertones. On the palate, fine, delicate tannins meld with a crisp strawberry tartness that accentuates the fresh, precise character of this attractive Pinot Noir.
Wine Enthusiast give this bottle a 92, saying: From a six-acre site further inland than many of the producer's other sources, this wine shines in classic coastal expression nonetheless. It presents a mix of earthy, stemmy forest and black tea, with a touch of reduction and lightness of oak and power. Delicately textured, it delivers a refined style.
