InHome Jams Philosophy

InHome Jams provides a modern take on music education. We believe that kids have so much more fun learning an instrument when they play songs that they like. We also feel that unlike traditional music lessons, which are steeped in reading and technique, today’s kids benefit from a method that expedites the learning process and gets them making music with other like-minded kids.

Curriculum

Our proprietary Rock N Roll 101 curriculum is at the core of our program. The­-song-­is-­the-lesson approach lets the student absorb musical skills and concepts that are hidden within the framework of classic and modern pop and rock songs. Each song is broken down to it’s bare musical bones and students master new challenges in technique, rhythm, melody, song form, ear training, and improvisation­ all the while playing hit songs.

Jamming

Throughout their lessons, students are given every opportunity to make music with their teacher (every teacher has an assortment of percussion instruments). Whether it’s playing the song-­of-the-­week or making up entirely new one, jamming is essential to discovering the joy of music.

Remix Concept

In addition to instrumental instruction, our students get to explore and discover the exciting world of Electronic Dance Music (EDM). Utilizing an array of iPad music apps, and keyboard controllers, the student will have insight into a world of beat making, production, and remixing at their fingertips.

Teachers

IHJ’s roster of teachers are some of the best musicians in the country, many have degrees from some of the top schools and conservatories in the world and have shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the industry. During sessions they bring the IHJ curriculum to life and help the student master each of their challenges, all the while having a ton of fun. Whether your child is an absolute beginner, or further down their musical path, your IHJ teacher will always be there, alongside them, providing encouragement and rocking out!

In-Home Convenience

We are aware that our clients lead busy lives. Sports schedules and after-school activities take up a lot of your time and you don’t need any more stress fighting traffic while transporting your child to music lessons. At IHJ, our professional instructors come to you and your children can learn their favorite instrument in the relaxing atmosphere of your own home.
