About Be More Chill (from Playbill.com)

Following a sold-out and extended run Off-Broadway, Joe Iconis and Joe Tracz's Be More Chill comes to Broadway! Blending the contemporary with retro sci-fi, this thrillingly exciting, comically subversive, and deeply felt new musical takes on the competing voices in all of our heads. And ultimately proves, there's never been a better time in history to be yourself-especially if you're a loser...geek...or whatever.

Before arriving in New York, Be More Chill had already amassed an unprecedented following across various online platforms, with millions of fans from Brazil to Japan to New Jersey sharing fan art, streaming the album (over 170 million streams to date), and talking about the show. In 2017, Tumblr ranked Be More Chill as the #2 most talked-about musical on their platform, following Hamilton.

SYNOPSIS: What if popularity came in a pill? Would you take it, no questions asked? In Be More Chill, achieving that elusive "perfect life" is now possible thanks to some mysterious new technology - but it comes at a cost that's not as easy to swallow.

About Will Roland

Will Roland is a Grammy Award (Dear Evan Hansen) winning actor and singer. Roland currently stars as Jeremy Heere in the highly anticipated new musical Be More Chill, which opened on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Lyceum Theatre on Broadway. Based on the novel by Ned Vizzini, with music and lyrics by Joe Iconis and a book by Joe Tracz, the musical follows a teenager, Jeremy, who struggles to find himself as he navigates the high school social scene.

His performance garnered widespread positive critical response. Deadline raved, “Will Roland, moving to a lead role in a star-making performance...” and Newsday gushed, “Roland…is a powerhouse as Jeremy, a vocal force with impeccable timing and impressive energy," in addition to Rolling Stone’s praise “a stellar Will Roland.”

Roland will also be seen in a supporting role in the upcoming fourth season of Showtime’s “Billions” as an employee of Mason Capital, run by Taylor Mason, played by Asia Kate Dillion.

Roland is best known for his role in the Tony Award winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen. Having been with the production since its very beginning stages, he performed in the role of Jared Kleinman from its regional stay in Washington D.C. to the off-Broadway production and then on Broadway for more than a year. He received the 2017 Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner for “Favorite Funny Performance,” and was a nominee for “Favorite Male Breakthrough Performance” and “Favorite Featured Actor in a Musical.”

A longtime member of Iconis & Family, Roland appeared in the regional production of The Black Suits, alongside Ben Platt and Annie Golden. He has also performed in a variety of concert performances alongside Krysta Rodriguez, George Salazar and Lauren Marcus.

Roland can also be seen on television in guest starring roles in “Red Oaks” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”

Roland was born and raised in New York and is a graduate of the New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. He lives in Brooklyn.
