Waldorf Weekend: Foundations and Fundamentals of Waldorf Education from Early Childhood through High School

Friday, June 28, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - Sunday, June 30, 2019 @ 1:00 pm

Ever wish you could experience Waldorf Education yourself? Or learn more about what makes this education so compelling? Sunbridge Institute's Waldorf Weekend offers just that opportunity.

Our popular Waldorf Weekend workshop is designed to provide an in-depth and experiential survey of the basis and the basics of Waldorf Education. In addition to exploring the Waldorf curriculum, your workshop will include a discussion of Rudolf Steiner’s insights in human development and a look into the anthroposophical underpinnings of the Waldorf impulse. You’ll enjoy hands-on artistic activities such as music, movement, and drawing, and there’ll be plenty of time for questions and answers. Our Waldorf Weekends are a most memorable—and fun!—learning experience.

  • A survey of the Waldorf curriculum and how it relates to the growing child
  • An exploration of the anthroposophical ideas that serve as the underpinnings of the Waldorf impulse
  • A look at Rudolf Steiner’s insights into human development
  • Hands-on artistic activities common to the Waldorf experience, including drawing and eurythmy
  • Opportunities to ask your most pressing questions
  • A deeper understanding of and appreciation for Waldorf Education
This workshop begins Friday evening, runs all day Saturday, and concludes early Sunday afternoon.

Linda Ogden-Wolgemuth, PhD (Lead; Anthroposophy, Early Childhood, and Elementary Curriculum).

Linda is Sunbridge Institute’s director of education and advancement. She joined the Sunbridge administration in 2018, after previously serving as a trustee on the Sunbridge Board. From 2006-2018 Linda was a class teacher at Manhattan’s Rudolf Steiner School, where she also sat on the Board of Trustees and College of Teachers and chaired the Community Education Committee; her background in education also includes teaching at the university level. A longtime student of anthroposophy, Linda earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in the field of German area studies from The Johns Hopkins University, her master’s and doctoral degrees in German languages and literatures from the University of Pennsylvania, and her certificate in elementary education from Sunbridge College.

High school specialist and eurythmy instructor TBA.

Waldorf Weekends are open to the public, but are designed especially for new and prospective Waldorf community members, including teachers, parents, grandparents, staff, and board members. Past attendees have also included students of education, public and private school teachers, and homeschooling parents.
