Gary Boelhower, PhD has been an educator at the high school, college, graduate, and executive training levels for over 40 years. His focus has been on ethics, values, leadership and wise decision making. He uses diverse wisdom technologies to facilitate deep reflection and to access the inner teacher.
He has served as an administrator in higher education as chair of humanities, dean of life-long learning, dean of graduate studies and vice president for academic affairs. He has consulted with a broad range of organizations (government, education, not-for-profit, and business) and has facilitated executive development programs on dialogue, authentic leadership, values and vision, the respectful workplace, navigating racial and cultural diversity, and wise decision-making. He was also the founding executive director of the Center for Spirituality and Leadership at Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
His publications include articles in leadership, practical wisdom and values integration. His poetry and stories have been published in journals and anthologies. His most recent books include: Naming Rites: Poems (Holy Cow! Press 2017); Marrow, Muscle, Flight: Poems which won the Midwest Book Award (Wildwood River Press 2011); Choose Wisely: Practical Insights from Spiritual Traditions (Paulist Press 2013); and Mountain 10 (coauthored with Joe Miguez and Tricia Pearce, Mountain 10 Resources 2013). He presently teaches at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.
