Mahoney 2017 Carneros Estate Vermentino: This is our second Mahoney Vermentino to be sourced from both our Las Brisas Vineyard in the Sonoma portion of the Carneros Appellation and our Mahoney Ranch vineyard in the Napa portion of the Carneros.

The 2017 Mahoney Vermentino is a bit more complex than its predecessors. The wine opens up with a lovely floral and citrus bouquet. On the palate, crisp green apple flavors are the focus, while stony minerality and a small bit of oak influence help to balance and round out the wine.

Onward 2015 Suisun Valley, Capp Inn Ranch, Skin Fermented, Malvasia Bianca:
From the winemaker: The key to this wine is that, while it is a skin-fermented wine, it is not an oxidative style. I feel this is very important. I wanted this wine to be enhanced by the aromatics and tannins in the skins, but not become oxidized or sherry like.

The broad range of aromas spans magnolia blossoms after a rain shower and fresh melon rind to Valencia orange peel and quince marmalade and warm feijoa crumble, the palate is plush with a soft silky texture.

Arbe Garbe 2017 Sonoma Valley White Wine: 24 hours of skin contact for the Malvasia, 12 hours for the Tocai and the Ribolla, followed by light pressing and native fermentation in puncheons for the Malvasia and the Tocai, barrels for the Ribolla. Post fermentation, batonnage weekly for the first 3 months, than once a month.

Vintone 2016 Mendocino County Chenin Blanc: Vintone is very proud to announce its first releases, which include a 2016 Chenin Blanc from the Talmage Bench in Mendocino County.

I am a true believer in personal connection and there is a story behind each vineyard site and how it came to be part of my portfolio. In these stories you will learn more about the people behind these vineyards. I liken my connection to these vineyards to that of one’s favorite shirt or coffee mug or chair. Like a well worn fabric or a slightly chipped mug that may have initially caught my eye for its beauty, but over the years it has won my heart because it just feels right. When it comes to vineyards this happens too, and it is a combination of my connection with the vines themselves and my connection with those that tend them. Arbe Garbe: From the Friulian wine hills to the California sun. Two young visionaries fell in love with the California dream and with each other during a far away harvest. We began crafting Arbe Garbe wines in 2007 as a way to reconnect to our roots. We focus on the production of all natural wines inspired by our native land Friuli. Our grapes are sourced from sustainable vineyards that are responsibly farmed in respect and love of the land.

Vintone aims to craft wines with a purity of expression that tell a unique story of the vineyard site and the season. Winemaker Sean Foster has been crafting wines of exceptional quality for 25 years, wines which he is very proud of. Sean has grown extremely fond of the individuality of a vineyard site in each and every vintage. This has led to the development of his own personal winemaking style, where these qualities are the focus of his wines and shared as Vintone.

Winning bidders located in Northern California may pick up their items at Stone Bridge School in Napa from Tuesday, March 26 to Friday, April 12, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. PT. (Note that the school will be closed for spring break from April 15-19.) Items not picked up by April 12 will be mailed to the winning bidder, and purchaser is responsible for shipping and insurance costs.

Items purchased by bidders residing outside of Northern California will be shipped (if possible) on or around Tuesday, March 26, unless you tell us that you do wish to pick up your item. Purchaser is responsible for shipping and insurance costs. Please contact us at sbspcauction@gmail.com before March 25 if you plan to pick up.
