"From the restaurateurs who launched local favorites Grand Army, Mile End, and Rucola comes Celestine, a sophisticated spot perched on the Dumbo waterfront. But there’s much more here than good looks and equally lovely views. Because even though it opened in October 2017, the place has been perpetually packed. (Reservations, even on a weekday, are recommended.) Chef Garett McMahan, an alum of Perilla and Bouley, has created an elegant, Mediterranean-inspired menu, brimming with crowd-pleasing mezze (think gaba ghannouj, hummus, and taramasalata) and heartier mains, many of which are finished in the roaring wood-fired oven. It’s a restaurant that Dumbo desperately needed and deserved, as it’s low key enough for an unfussy, midweek meal, yet chic enough for a celebration."
