Manzanita Grove Vineyard is a small, hand-tended vineyard is nestled on the southwest hillside of the Mayacamas Mountains in the newly formed Moon Mountain AVA. Manzanita Grove Vineyard started producing Sangiovese in 2012 because the rocky, volcanic soil of the Moon Mountain AVA provides the perfect conditions for growing Sangiovese grapes with vibrant acidity and substantial tannins. Its wine have been recognized for its excellence. The 2014 Sangiovese wine received a bronze medal in a blind tasting competition sponsored by Wine Maker Magazine and the 2016 Sangiovese wine was a silver medalist in the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. The lucky winner will get a case of this award winning 2016 Sangiovese wine.
