Item Description
Mayacamas 2005 Mt. Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon, 1.5L
2005 Mt. Veeder, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon - The shallow, rocky, volcanic soils at the Mayacamas Vineyards on Mt. Veeder in western Napa County, along with the site's elevation, warm summers, and cold winters, produce small, intensely flavored berries. The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon has deep, brooding blackberry and black cherry aromas, along with a sagelike dimension, on the nose. The acidity on the tongue balances the surprisingly supple tannins. Red currants and plums on the palate finish very long. Will age gracefully for many years. Drink now through 2023. Blend: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot.

Since the 1950s, the vinification and élevage of Mayacamas has remained remarkably consistent, and our continued commitment to employ classical techniques and tools is integral to the character of these wines. The Mayacamas style begins with an early harvest to preserve acidity and encourage bright, vibrant flavors.
The wines see extended ageing in neutral oak vessels ranging in size from small barrels to large foudres -- some in use since the 1920s. Finally, the wines are released only after further time in bottle, ensuring the elements coalesce into a complete wine. This unwavering approach results in classically styled, age-worthy wines.
