Item Description

2 x one-day ticket to Hans Christian Andersen's Odense.

This item covers two tickets for five museums in the City of Odense in Denmark. Children and youth aged 0-17 can visit the museums for free.

Nowhere else in the world can you get as close to Hans Christian Andersen as here in Odense. Walk in his footsteps and discover the iconic places that inspired the poet. His birthplace. His childhood home. The washing place and the river. Feel the atmosphere in the city’s old streets and explore the museums along the way.
The one-day ticket to H.C. Andersen’s Odense is valid for five museums on the route – which also leaves you time for a couple of detours in the city.

The five museums are:

H.C. Andersen Museum - an exhibition with a selection of exquisite artefacts and strong visual elements - offers an opportunity to experience the fairytale that was Andersen, the scope of his creativity and how it unfolded in his life.

H.C. Andersen Birthplace - the world's greatest fairytale writer was born in Odense in 1805. Visit the now iconic yellow corner house located in the old historic precinct of Odense.

H.C. Andersen's Childhood Home - where you clearly sense the straitened circumstances of his childhood and inspiration for many of his fairytales. You can also enjoy the small garden of the childhood home, which pays a poetic floral tribute to the writer's fairytales.

Møntergården - a cultural oasis in the heart of Odense, comprising lovely courtyards and beautiful old buildings from the time of Andersen's childhood in Odense. The museum has several exhibitions presenting the history of the region from which H.C. Andersen had his inspiration. Also, make sure to pay a visit to "Børnenes Baggård" - a backyard, an apartment and a carpentry shop as they looked in 1890. Play your way back in history.

The Tinderbox - a cultural center for children where Hans Christian Andersen's fairytales come to life through play, storytelling, theatre and art. The entire center provides inspiration for play and is full of opportunities for children and adults alike. The Tinderbox is located at Møntergården.
