Item Description

This is a beautiful framed lithograph by Bolivian artist Graciela Rodo Boulanger. Painted in 1981, this powerful piece will dominate any setting. In Boulanger's signature style, a chorus of children holding violins is a touching, delightful image of children doing what they do best...creating and accomplishing. This powerful piece measures 16 inches wide by 20 inches high. The image itself measures 10 inches wide by 12 inches high. It is in excellent condition. It is framed in a brown wood frame

Graciela Rodo Boulanger was born in La Paz, Bolivia in 1935. She is noted for her artworks featuring stylized renderings of children. Having excelled at both art and music, Graciela was forced to choose. At twenty-two, she chose painting and print making and etching. In 1966, she published her first editions of engravings and first exhibited in the United States. In 1979, UNICEF designated her official artist for the International Year of the Child Poster, and two of her tapestries were presented in the hall of the UN General Assembly. The Museum of Modern Art of Latin America, in Washington, D.C. gave a retrospective of her work in 1983. In 1986, The Metropoitan Opera of New York commissioned her poster for Mozart's, The Magic Flute, and her paintings were shown by the Art Gallery of Lincoln Center.
