Using paint brushes, watercolors, and textured white paper, the Canaries children brought a blank canvas to life.
Each of the Canaries showcased their own knack for artistry and used their choice of colors to create swirls, dots, and blobs on the paper. The range of saturation and choice of color varied from child to child as did the final product. These colorful sheets were then cut into circles and lacquered onto a white wooden step stool (perfect size for these independent young ones!)
The Canaries children have created their own abstract expressionism here. The combination of their individual paintings is a joyful incarnation of the little ones who created it.
On the underside of the stool, each child has left a thumbprint mark. They chose their favorite primary color and used acrylic paint to leave a “thumbprint” above their name creating a signature for their artwork.
