Item Description

Unique Bold Statement Necklace: The traditionally-nomadic Tuareg people are indigenous to the Sahara desert. They are often called "the Blue People of the desert" due to the indigo dye they use on their garments that stains their skin. This gorgeous artisan-crafted necklace features round black glass beads and round and tubular silver beads connected to a hand-hammered silver amulet with intricate etched designs. The necklace was just restrung in 2019 and is 16.5" long with a lobster-claw clasp. This beautiful piece was acquired by C.A.S.E. therapist, Madeleine Krebs, when she served in Niger as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 1992 - 1994. Be sure to view these other hand-crafted Tuareg items: #209, #230 and #231.
