Item Description

It’s carnival time! Inspired by circus acts and animals, this year’s quilt showcases each of our kindergartener’s displaying their favorite circus look. Each student selected circus themed props for pictures and art images to design their own special quilt block.

On the front of the quilt – student’s images were photographed and printed in their color group squares (red, blue, yellow group) and their initials are embroidered on the color blocks to help identify each girl. The silhouette’s were taken on the blue top playground using the monkey bars and playset.

On the back of the quilt – kindergartener’s portraits are placed with hand embroidery of their first names and art creations with their handwriting placed around the quilt. The teachers worked with each girl to select an art image to design and decorate and label with their names.

The photographs and artwork that comprise this quilt make it a unique and priceless work of art. This quilt has two beautiful sides, showcasing the silhouette’s, art, and portraits of each kindergartener. It will be a cherished souvenir of this first, precious year together at Burke’s.

The making of the quilt was a collaborative effort from parents, faculty, our girls and sponsors. The quilt was sewn by Vanae Nelson and the printing was made possible by Diaz Printing Services located in Novato.

The 2019 quilt will grow more and more valuable as the class of 2027 continues making, playing and using their imaginations to make the impossible possible! We know the winning bidder will be sure to treasure this item for many years to come as many others have!

The quilt is the perfect display size of 70” x 82”, Green velvet.
