Collectible Surgi Doll by Allie Davis: Cotton, silk, beads, natural dyes (brazilwood and madder)
“Itajime” is named after Itajime shibori, the Japanese resist technique which was used to dye the fabric. Brazilwood and madder were used to achieve the naturally dyed cotton, silk, and wooden beads.
Item Special Note
Allie Davis is a textile artist who focuses on inclusive, colourful design. Using traditional Japanese dyeing techniques and natural dyes, they create unique geometric patterns. Currently, they are working as an artist in residence at Harbourfront Centre.
