Soft Storage; “ZOE” a structured box shape rendition of the Surgi Doll's shape from pink polyamide warp knitted mesh. A simplistic container to store treasures, drawings, sweets and letters; seeks comfort through functionality. Drawing on her education as a product and shoe designer Ruth‘s multi-disciplinary practice focuses on creating innovative lifestyle concepts, household products and augmented accouterments-come-devices. Focusing on designing for and equipping a nomadic urban lifestyle, she continues to manufacture the (un)common event with a sense of purpose and delight.
Her work has been exhibited in Europe and Canada and has garnered numerous awards and accolades.
