Enjoy the experience of working in an award-winning, world-class recording facility, taking advantage of both state-of-the-art technology and time-tested vintage gear. Guilford Sound is situated on over 300 acres of private woodlands in the foothills of the Green Mountains of Vermont, providing a retreat-like setting. The stellar sound quality of the performance rooms and the control room accuracy was realized by the venerable design team at Francis Manzella Design. The buildings were designed by Ryall Porter Sheridan Architects and built by David Ross Builder. The studio comes with a house engineer and an assistant.
Item Special Note
Studio Details: Guilford Sound sports a spacious square foot control room, and houses a 64 input API Legacy console with an integrated 12 channel Neve Melbourn, both fitted with Flying Faders. The front wall of the control room is built around a pair of Griffin Audio G1 speakers powered by custom Griffin Audio amplifiers. The 750 square foot live room has a live/dead side approach, and 4 independently floated isolations booths with clear sight lines. The studio and the housing are linked and surrounded by miles of hiking trails.

Restrictions:
- Winning bidder must provide media (cd-r, hard drive, reel-to-reel tape) if he or she wants to leave with copies of the recordings.
- A “day” of recording is limited to 10 continuous hours with a ½ hour break for lunch, and two other 15 minute breathers built into that time.
- Piano tuning, if needed, is an additional $125.
- Set-up before the session, if desired, is charged at $50/hr.
Note: There is housing but it is not included in the auction. There are 5 bedrooms that can accommodate up to 10 guests at $50/room/night + tax. per night, per person. Each room is furnished with a full bathroom and either 2 twin beds or 1 king bed.
Winning bidder will be fully responsible for all transaction charges.
